We were glad Allen Norman from Washington State attended our trial; he and his Britts were successful in collecting their share of trophies and ribbons. Frank Campbell drove down from Oklahoma and was delighted to win the Open Puppy.
Club members pitched in and helped where needed: Larry and Patricia Mankin cooked soup and, along with Carolyn Kuykendall, Michelle Lingan and her friend Nancy, coordinated and presented the meals. Sue & Bobby Armstrong brought home baked brownies for dessert and we had a terrific happy hour.
A huge “Thank You” to all who attended and helped put on the trial; we hope to see you again in late January.

Our fall trial was held on grounds close to Mexia, TX, leased by the Four Corners Assn. for trials and training. We thank this group of people for providing trial grounds to local clubs. The weather was warm and as a result of recent rains the mosquitoes were thick in several places on the course. Birds were plentiful, maybe too plentiful for some competitors, and the many ponds offered dogs a place to cool off during their runs. The entry was small and we are thankful our friends with other pointing breeds supported our trial. The competition from breeds other than Brittanys was fierce as indicated by the placements! But they were well received and we sincerely thank our judges E. J. Hall, Kim Ochoa, Keith Hickam, Joyce Miley, Ed Cowling, Vic Carrington and Jim Crawford.
The TCBC Spring Field Trial was held Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 2009, at the Boyd Ranch near Mexia, TX. Thanks to all who helped make it another successful event!
Congratulations to the following club members with placements! Our fall trial was held November 7-9, 2008 at the Boyd Ranch near Mexia, TX. The weather turned cooler Thursday morning, but warmed up Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Birds were plentiful and the many ponds offered dogs a place to cool off during their runs. The open Derby, Open & Amateur Gun Dog stakes were open to all pointing breeds, so we saw many friends come with their Setters, Shorthairs and Vizsla. It’s great to see our friends of 20 years still running dogs. We sincerely thank our judges E. J. Hall, Conrad Plevnic, Kim Ochoa, Vic Carrington, and Jim Crawford. With our club members help the trial was a success: Michelle Lingan planted birds. Robert Power, new to the sport, learned to handle the quail and learned about horse tack. Larry and Patricia Mankin and Michelle cooked soup and coordinated and presented the meals. Sue and Bobby Armstrong brought home baked brownies for dessert. A huge ‘Thank You’ to you all and we hope to see you for the January 30-February 1 trial.
